Raja Devendra Pratap Singh (also Kumar Devendra Pratap Singh) (born 2 May 1975) is anIndian politician and aMember of Parliament in theRajya Sabha representing the state ofChhattisgarh.[1]
Singh is the son ofRaja Surendra Kumar Singh and grandson ofRaja Chakradhar Singh, the raja ofRaigarh State during theBritish Raj in India.
Devendra was born on 2 May 1975 toRaja Surendra Kumar Singh ofGond dynasty. He completed his schooling atRajkumar College, Raipur and was admitted toSt. Stephen's College, Delhi,University of Delhi where he pursuedBA andMA in history.[citation needed]
Singh's father Surendra Pratap was a politician, who served as MLA fromLailunga and also Rajya Sabha MP fromChhattisgarh. His uncleRaja Lalitkumar Singh was the last Raja ofRaigarh State.[2]
On 11 February 2024, he was announced as BJP Candidate fromChhattisgarh in upcomingRajya Sabha election.[3]
