Devendra Patel is a politician fromMadhya Pradesh. He had fought and won the 2008 Madhya Pradesh legislative assembly elections fromSilwani in the district ofRaisen, on the ticket ofBharatiya Janshakti Party.[1]

He won the election by defeatingRampal Singh ofBhartiya Janata Party by a margin of 247 votes only.[2] After the party's founderUma Bharti merged the party withBhartiya Janata Party, Patel started being ignored by BJP members and so he decided to joinIndian National Congress, in 2013, ahead of the 2013 Madhya Pradesh Legislative assembly elections, along with his 17 supporters.[3] In 2014, he contested theLok Sabha elections fromHoshangabad, but lost.[4]
