Desiree Becker (born 27 January 1994) is aGerman politician and member of theBundestag.[1] A member ofThe Left, she has represented Hesse since 2025.
Becker was born on 27 January 1994 inSt. Wendel.[1] She has stated that she joined theCDU in her early years due to a lack of alternatives inSt. Wendel.[2] She has been co-leader ofThe Left inHesse since October 2024.[3] She was The Left's candidate inGießen (constituency 172) at the2025 federal election but was not elected.[4] She was however elected to theBundestag on The Left'sstate list in Hesse.[5][6]
In 2025 Becker made a speech in the Bundestag on behalf ofThe Left group opposing a resolution that would extend theBundeswehr's involvement in Kosovo aspeacekeepers.[7] She argued that the involvement did not achieve its stated goal of increasing stability betweenKosovo and Serbia and that the peacekeeping mission in Kosovo would continue to miss its goals as long as the EU remained silent aboutSerbian presidentVučić's war crime denial and support forSerbian ethnonationalism.[7]
