Deseronto Transit is thepublic transit system in the Canadian town ofDeseronto, also connecting to the towns ofBelleville,Napanee andTyendinaga. Service runs from 5AM-7PM, with no service on statuary holidays.[1][2]

History

Deseronto Transit was founded in 2007, providing limited service in Deseronto and Belleville.[3]

On January 2, 2024, Deseronto Transit transitioned to a fixed route service, running from Belleville to Greater Napanee via Deseronto.[4] Additional stops were added inTyendinaga Mohawk Territory, inShannonville, and throughout Greater Napanee.[5][4]

Connections

Deseronto Transit connects withBelleville Transit, in Belleville. It also indirectly connects withQuinte Transit at Quinte Mall.

Fleet

Deseronto Transit utilizes one 2012GMC G4500, one 2016Ford E-450, one 2018 Ford E-450 and one 2018Dodge Caravan SE. The fleet is wheelchair-accessible.

Stops

Deseronto Transit operated 22 stops, but has curtailed service as the town of Greater Napanee has withdrawn its subsidy effective 31 Mar 2025.[6][7]

Fares

Deseronto Transit offers monthly passes, which are available at the Deseronto Town Hall, and several locations in the other municipalities. A one way fare for the whole route is $15, while travelling between townships and within them is a half less.[7]
