Denílson Martins Nascimento (born 4 September 1976), simply known asDenílson, is a Brazilian former professionalfootballer.

Club career

Born inSalvador, Bahia, Denílson moved abroad at the age of 20. He was, however, limited toreserve team football with bothFeyenoord andParis Saint-Germain, and signed with Portuguese clubUnião Lamas in January 1998.

After six years in theUnited Arab Emirates, mainly at the service ofAl Shabab, and a brief stint in theLiga MX withClub Atlas, Denílson joinedSouth Korea'sDaejon Citizen initially on a three-month contract, returning later for one 1/2 years.[1] He helped fellowK-League teamPohang Steelers finish third at the2009 FIFA Club World Cup, scoring four goals in three games.[2]

On 29 December 2009 Denílson signed forBunyodkor in Uzbekistan,[3] partneringRivaldo at that and his following club,Mogi Mirim.[4] He continued playing well into his 30s, making his debut in theSérie B at the age of 35 withGuarani.[5]
