TheConnecticut Democratic State Central Committee (CT Dems) is the affiliate of theDemocratic Party in the state ofConnecticut. Its chair isRoberto L. Alves.[2]

It is the dominant party in the state. Connecticut Democrats control both chambers of thestate legislature, all constitutional state offices, all five of Connecticut's seats in theUnited States House of Representatives, and both of its seats in theUnited States Senate.

  1. ^Joe Lieberman won the 1988 election as a Democrat. Lieberman left the party and became an Independent in 2006 but continued to caucus with Senate Democrats until his retirement in 2012.
