TheDemocratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) is aUnited States national politicaladvocacy group that focuses on electingDemocrats as stateattorneys general. ItsRepublican counterpart is theRepublican Attorneys General Association. It currently has 24 members, comprising 23state attorneys general and theDC attorney general.

Operations

DAGA was formed in 2002.[1]

Its executive committee is made up ofNevada Attorney GeneralAaron Ford,Attorney General of DelawareKathy Jennings,Attorney General of MinnesotaKeith Ellison,Illinois Attorney GeneralKwame Raoul,Massachusetts Attorney GeneralAndrea Campbell,Attorney General of CaliforniaRob Bonta, andVermont Attorney GeneralCharity Clark.[2]

Position on abortion

In 2019, the group announced that it would not endorse any candidate who did not support abortion. The onlyanti-abortion Democratic attorney general at the time wasMississippi Attorney GeneralJim Hood. This decision was criticized by former SenatorHeidi Heitkamp.[3]
