Delphine Girard

Belgian film director

Delphine Girard is aBelgian film director.[1] She is most noted for her 2018 short filmA Sister (Une sœur), which was anAcademy Award nominee forBest Live Action Short Film at the92nd Academy Awards in 2020.[2]

Born inQuebec, she moved to Belgium with her family in childhood, and studied film atINSAS. She directed the short filmsMonstre (2014) andCaverne (2017) prior to makingA Sister.[3]

Her feature debut,Through the Night (Quitter la nuit), premiered at the80th Venice International Film Festival,[4] where Girard won the Audience Award for theGiornate degli Autori program.[5]
