Brittany Marie Amaradio (born 1993),[1] known professionally asDelacey, is an American singer and songwriter.[2] Having co-written songs such as "New York City" forThe Chainsmokers, "Ruin the Friendship" forDemi Lovato, and "Without Me" forHalsey (which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100),[2][3][4] in March 2020, she released her debut album,Black Coffee.[5] She released her second albumThe Girl Has A Dream in 2023 featuring the single "Boy With The Blues."[6][7]

In 2024, Delacey co-wrote two songs for the animated motion pictureThe Wild Robot, "Kiss the Sky" and "Even When I'm Not" both performed byMaren Morris.[8] "Kiss the Sky" was met with critical acclaim, winning aHollywood Music In Media Award for Best Original Song, and earning nominations for theAstra Awards,Critics' Choice Awards, andGolden Globe Awards.[9][10][11]Her song "Dream It Possible" is available as a ringtone onHuawei phones, and is thecompany theme song.

Early life

Amaradio was born in an Italian family[12] and raised inSan Juan Capistrano inOrange County, California.[13] Picking up the piano and songwriting at seven years old, Amaradio cites her early influences asStevie Nicks andBillie Holiday, a taste she acquired from her father's vinyl collection.[13] Upon graduating fromCapistrano Valley High School,[14] Amaradio briefly moved toManhattan where she worked as a photographer by day and worked open mics at night.[15] During this time, she wrote "New York City" about her struggles in New York. Upon returning to the West Coast, she adopted the pseudonym "Delacey."[2]
