Defense News was founded as a weekly newspaper byArmy Times Publishing Company. ATPCO was sold in 1997 toGannett Company[2] (later renamedTEGNA), which sold it to Los Angeles–based private equity firmRegent in 2016, which renamed itSightline Media Group.[3][4][5][6]
Defense News has a weekly television show about international defense and military issues. It first aired March 2, 2008, asThis Week in Defense News withVago Muradian onWUSA 9, aWashington, D.C.,CBS affiliate. It later aired on ABC 7 WJLA and theArmed Forces Network.[7] In April 2017, the show relaunched onWETA-TV asDefense News Weekly.[8][9]
