David John Sidwick is a British politician who was elected as theConservativeDorset Police and Crime Commissioner in the2021 England and Wales police and crime commissioner elections.[1] He succeededMartyn Underhill who did not run for re-election.[2] He is the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners’ joint co-lead on substance misuse.[3] He previously worked in the pharmaceutical industry and has called for cannabis to re-classified from Class B to Class A in the UK.[4] He is the co-founder and managing director of STAC Consultancy Ltd and was a therapy director for pharmaceutical companyPfizer.[5]
Sidwick was chairman of theBournemouth WestConservative Association.[6] Sidwick was re-elected in the2024 England and Wales police and crime commissioner elections.[7]
Sidwick was born and raised inBournemouth. He was the chair of Governors atBournemouth School between 2010-2021.[8]
