David Eugene Ray Jr. (born September 19, 1944) is an American former professionalfootball player who was aplacekicker in theNational Football League (NFL) andCanadian Football League (CFL). He playedcollege football for theAlabama Crimson Tide as a kicker andwide receiver,[1] and was anAll-American kicker in1964.
Ray was selected in the 16th round (243rd overall) of the1966 NFL draft. He then played for theMontreal Alouettes in1968, where he made 11 of 18 field goal attempts.[2][3] Ray joined theLos Angeles Rams in1969 and played for the team forsix seasons, connecting on 110 field goals in 178 attempts.[2][4]
