David Maxwell (born October 1965)[1] is an IrishFine Gael politician who has been aTeachta Dála (TD) for theCavan–Monaghan constituency since the2024 general election.[2][3]

Political career

Maxwell was a member ofMonaghan County Council from 2004 to 2024 for theMonaghan area.[4][5]

At the2024 general election, Maxwell was elected to the Dáil.[6]

Personal life

Maxwell is married with two children. He has worked as anundertaker, and grew up inCounty Antrim duringthe Troubles – attendingBallycraigy primary school – before returning to live in his father's home town of Monaghan.[7] He describes himself as "coming from the Protestant background".[7]
