David Boris Philippe Henen (born 19 April 1996) is a professionalfootballer who plays as awinger andstriker forV.League 1 clubSHB Da Nang. Born in Belgium, he represents theTogo national team.

Early and personal life

Henen was born inLibramont-Chevigny on 19 April 1996.[3]

Club career

Henen played youth football withVirton,Standard Liège andAnderlecht, before moving on loan to French clubMonaco II on loan in September 2013.[4]

In July 2014 he was linked with a transfer to English clubEverton.[5]

On 1 September 2014, he signed for Greek clubOlympiacos, simultaneously moving on loan to Everton for the duration of the 2014–15 season.[6] The transfer was made permanent in July 2015,[7] for a fee of around £200,000.[8]

Henen joinedLeague One clubFleetwood Town on a season long loan on 11 November 2015.[9]

He was released by Everton at the end of the 2017–18 season.[10]

On 31 August 2018, Henen joined Belgian sideCharleroi.[11] He signed a contract running to 2020.[12]

In October 2020 he signed for French clubGrenoble.[13]

On 31 January 2022, Henen signed a two-and-a-half-year contract withKortrijk back in Belgium.[14]

On 7 February 2024, Henen joinedTobol in Kazakhstan on a two-year contract.[15]

In August 2025, Henen moved to Vietnam, signing forV.League 1 sideSHB Da Nang.[16]

International career

Henen was born in Belgium to a Belgian father and a Togolese mother, and is eligible for both national teams.[17] He has represented Belgium at youth international level.[18]

Henen represented theTogo national football team in a 1–02021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification loss toComoros on 14 November 2019.[19]
