David Philip Tuttle (born 6 February 1972 inMortimer Common,Berkshire) is an English formerfootballer.

Career

As a player, Tuttle was a central defender. He began his playing career atTottenham Hotspur, where he scored his first professional goal in the1991–92 European Cup Winners' Cup againstHajduk Split.[1] He subsequently had spells withSheffield United,Crystal Palace,Barnsley andMillwall.

Tuttle became assistant manager toColin Lee at Millwall and was later appointedmanager of Millwall in December 2005 with the target of saving the club from relegation toLeague One. After failing in his task he left two games before the end of the2005–06 season.

Tuttle later moved toSwindon Town to run their youth set-up and scouting, linking up with former Millwall teammateDennis Wise. When Wise left to manageLeeds United in October 2006 Tuttle briefly becamecaretaker manager but the left the job just 24 hours later. He later left Swindon afterPaul Sturrock was appointed. Tuttle joinedDorking in an advisory capacity in June 2007, also signing for the club as a player,[2] though a few weeks later he was appointed chief scout ofMilton Keynes Dons.[3]

On 27 August 2009, Tuttle was confirmed as the new manager of strugglingSouthern League Division One South and West sideBracknell Town.

In July 2010, Tuttle was appointed as manager ofHellenic League East Div 1 sideHenley Town, where he gained promotion to theHellenic League Premier Division with a youngHenley Town squad in his first season with the club.

In June 2012 he was appointed as manager ofHartley Wintney.[4] But after just a few months at Hartley Wintney was appointed as the new boss at Hellenic League sideNewbury.[5] After just a few months at Newbury Tuttle was relieved of his duties on 11 January 2013.[6]

On 23 November 2015, Tuttle was announced as manager of Southern League Division One South & West sideBurnham.[7] On 22 August 2016, it was announced that he had parted company withBurnham, after a run of four straight defeats at the start of theHellenic League season.[8] He was appointed manager ofAFC Aldermaston in October 2019.[9] He left Aldermaston at the end of the 2022–23 season.[10]

In January 2024 he was appointed caretaker manager ofAylesbury United a job which he later took on permanently, seeing the side improve greatly since his arrival.[11]
