David Rodney Lewis (October 15, 1954 – July 14, 2020)[1] was an American professionalfootball player who was alinebacker in theNational Football League (NFL).
Prior to that he played atSan Diego City College andAbraham Lincoln High School whereMarcus Allen,Akili Smith andTerrell Davis have since played.
Lewis played college football at theUniversity of Southern California where he was All-Pac-10 player. After retirement lewis Transitioned into coaching Where He Spent The Majority of his time at Tampa Catholic High School including time as the head coach . Prior to his Death Lewis Suffered a heart attack and Had a pacemaker implanted.
He Played In the NFL With The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Los Angeles Rams and San Diego Chargers. He played in the 1980Pro Bowl.[2]
