Daulton Hommes (born July 4, 1996) is an American professionalbasketball player forParis Basketball of theLNB Pro A and theEuroLeague. After graduating high school, he playedcollege basketball forPoint Loma Nazarene University, where he was named theNABC Division II National Player of the Year for the 2018–19 season.
After missing his junior and senior seasons atLynden Christian High School due to anACL injury, Hommes signed withNCAA Division II schoolWestern Washington as awalk-on, where he also sat out his freshman season to heal. He made his college debut in the 2016–17 season, averaging 12.5 points per game and earning All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) honorable mention recognition. In his sophomore season, Hommes averaged 18.1 points per game and was a unanimous All-GNAC pick. Following the 2017–18 season, he decided to transfer toPoint Loma Nazarene.[1][2]
In the 2018–19 season, Hommes joined the Sea Lions as a starter. He averaged 21.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and led the team toPacific West Conference regular-season andconference tournament titles. During the season, he began to garnerNBA scout attention.[3][4] Hommes led the team to the2019 NCAA Division II tournament title game for the first time in school history, where the Sea Lions fell toNorthwest Missouri State. For the season, Hommes earned PacWest Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors and nationally was named the NABC Division II National Player of the Year and an All-American.[5][6]
Following his junior season, Hommes contemplated staying at Point Loma or transferring up to aDivision I school. Ultimately, he decided to forego his final year of eligibility and declare himself eligible for the2019 NBA draft.[7][8]
After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft, he was signed by theMilwaukee Bucks as a part of their2019 NBA Summer League team.
On August 16, 2019, Hommes signed an Exhibit 10 contract with theSan Antonio Spurs, ultimately securing him a spot in training camp and then with the Spurs’NBA G League affiliate, theAustin Spurs.[9] On February 22, 2020, Hommes had 23 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in a win over theSouth Bay Lakers.[10] He averaged 8 points and 3 rebounds per game in 36 games for Austin.[11]
On August 14, 2020, Hommes signed a one-year contract withVanoli Cremona of the ItalianLega Basket Serie A (LBA).[12]
On August 19, 2021, Hommes signed atwo-way contract with theNew Orleans Pelicans.[13] However, he was waived on December 21, without playing a game for the Pelicans nor theirNBA G League affiliate, theBirmingham Squadron.[14]
On February 19, 2022, Hommes was traded from theAustin Spurs to theBirmingham Squadron in exchange forJarrod Uthoff.[15]
On July 10, 2022, Hommes signed withSaski Baskonia of the SpanishLiga ACB and theEuroLeague.[16] On July 3, 2023, he parted ways with the club.
On April 24, 2024, Hommes signed withAquila Basket Trento of theLega Basket Serie A (LBA).[17]
On July 23, 2024, he signed withParis Basketball of theLNB Pro A.[18]
Hommes married Tivona Tinsley in August 2024.[19]
