Saint Dasya the Soldier (Arabic:داسيا) orDaysa the Egyptian, was aChristianmartyr of the third century. He was born in Tanda,Egypt (Coptic:ⲑⲱⲓϯ, modern Tida inKafr el-Sheikh Governorate),[1] and served as a soldier in theRoman army. Refusing to denyChrist, Dasya wastortured byArianus, governor ofAnsena, who inflicted great tortures on him, eventually cutting off his head.[2]
He is a saint in theCoptic Church andEthiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. His feast in theCoptic Orthodox Church is on 2Thout.[3]
