Darrhon or Darron (Ancient Greek:Δάῤῥων) was aPaeonian[1] god of healing, whose cult was adopted by theancient Macedonians, as mentioned byHesychius as a MacedonianDaemon and attestedhapax in one inscription ofPellac. 200 – 150 BC.[2]

Excavations revealed a sanctuary of Darrhon in ancientPella.[4] It has been argued that while Darrhon (Greek:Δάῤῥων) was initially a minor deity, he was later identified and worshiped asAsclepius.[5]
It has been suggested that "Darrhon" is aMacedonian-styled name of Greek participle θαρρῶν tharrhon,[6] meaning "giving courage, making bold". Θάρρων,Tharrhon, is anEretrian eponym.[7] Alternatively, his name might be derived from theThracian tribe of Derrones in the north part of theStrymon valley, compare Apollo Derenus inAbdera[8]
