Dari Lu (Persian:دریلو)[a] is a village inMinjavan-e Sharqi Rural District ofMinjavan District inKhoda Afarin County,East Azerbaijan province,Iran.
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 429 in 84 households, when it was in the formerKhoda Afarin District ofKaleybar County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 399 people in 102 households,[5] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment ofKhoda Afarin County. The rural district was transferred to the newMinjavan District.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 407 people in 140 households.[2]
In the wake ofWhite Revolution (early 1960s) a clan ofMohammad Khanlu tribe, comprising 40 households, used Derilou as their winter quarters.[7]
At present, most inhabitants are farmers. Still, during hot days of late spring and summer they move to tents inChaparli summer camp to provide relatively large sheep herds of thevillage with better grazing opportunity.
Before the 1940s the village enjoyed relative fame as the seat of Hossein Khan Leysi, who was a feudal from the ruling family of theMohammad Khanlu tribe. After the Khan's second marriage to a commoner girl from upland region, he moved toAbbasabad, and Derilou lost its former importance. Still the Khan's sons married and the family was expanded. At present half of the village's inhabitants are descendants of Hossein Khan.
