Darcey Elizabeth Morris Carter (born 31 May 2005) is an English-born Scottishcricketer who currently plays forKent. She plays as a right-armoff breakbowler.[1][2]

She made her international debut forScotland in July 2023, in aTwenty20 International againstThailand.[3]

Early life

Carter was born on 31 May 2005 inBexley,Greater London.[2]

Domestic career

Carter made her county debut in 2022, forKent againstHampshire, in which she took 2/12 from her 2 overs.[4] Overall, she took six wickets at an average of 16.50 in the2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup.[5] She played two matches in the2023 Women's Twenty20 Cup, taking two wickets at an average of 8.50.[6]

Carter was named in theSouth East Stars Academy squad between 2021 and 2023.[7][8][9] She was promoted to the senior squad in June 2023.[10] She made her debut for the side on 2 July 2023, againstNorthern Diamonds in theRachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, taking 2/31 from 5 overs.[11]

Carter was named in the South East Stars Academy squad for 2024.[12] In August 2024, it was announced that Carter had gone on loan from South East Stars toNorth West Thunder for the remainder of the season.[13]

International career

In August 2022, Carter played forScotland Under-19s in theEurope Qualifier for the2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup against the Netherlands. In the third match of the series, she scored 103* from 55 balls.[14]

In December 2022, Carter was selected in the Scotland Under-19 squad for the2023 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup.[15] She played all four matches for the side at the tournament, scoring 54 runs at an average of 13.50.[16]

In July 2023, she received her first call-up to thesenior side, for aTri-Nation Series in the Netherlands.[17] She made herTwenty20 International debut in the first match of the series, againstThailand on 10 July 2023.[3] She made herOne Day International debut on 17 October 2023, againstIreland.[18]

In September 2024 she was named in the Scotland squad for the2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup.[19]
