Dar Re Mi (foaled 2005 in Great Britain) is a retiredThoroughbredracehorse. In a racing career lasting from 2007 to 2010 she won six times, including three atGroup One level. Since retiring from racing she has become a very successful broodmare.

Dar Re Mi is a daughter ofSingspiel out of the mareDarara. Singspiel was a very successful breeding stallion whose other top horses includeHibaayeb andMoon Ballad.[1] During her racing career she was owned byAndrew Lloyd Webber and trained byJohn Gosden.

Racing career

Dar Re Mi notably ran third in the 2009Breeders' Cup Turf. She won theYorkshire Oaks at theEbor Festival and in August 2009.[2] On 27 March 2010 she earned the most important win of her career in the 2010Dubai Sheema Classic.[3]

Breeding record

Dar Re Mi was retired to stud in September 2010 at Watership Down Stud, owned byMadeleine Gurdon, Lady Lloyd Webber.[4] Dar Re Mi's first foal, a colt called De Treville sired byOasis Dream, won two races and placed four times ingroup races.[5] Her second foal So Mi Dar, a filly sired byDubawi, won theInvestec Derby Trial andMusidora Stakes in 2016.[6] Her fourth foal, Lah Ti Dar, won thePretty Polly Stakes in 2018.[7] Later that year her sonToo Darn Hot won theDewhurst Stakes and followed up with wins in thePrix Jean Prat andSussex Stakes in 2019.
