Daniel Ray Allen Cooksey Jr. (born November 2, 1975)[1] is an American actor and musician. He is best known for his roles in television shows, such asDiff'rent Strokes (during the final three seasons),The Cavanaughs, andSalute Your Shorts, his role as a friend to the youngJohn Connor inTerminator 2: Judgment Day, and as the voice of Montana "Monty" Max inTiny Toon Adventures, as well as voice roles in projects such asXiaolin Showdown,Dave the Barbarian, and theDC Animated Universe seriesStatic Shock.[2]

When Cooksey was eight years old, his mother moved to Los Angeles with the intention of pursuing a career incountry music.[3]

He auditioned successfully forDiff'rent Strokes, being cast as Sam McKinney, a role he played for the last three seasons.[2] He also played Kevin Cavanaugh inThe Cavanaughs,[2] Bobby Budnick inSalute Your Shorts,[2]John Connor's friend Tim inTerminator 2: Judgment Day,[2] the title character inThe Further Adventures of SuperTed,Montana Max inTiny Toon Adventures, Milo Kamalani onPepper Ann, Jack Spicer inXiaolin Showdown,[2] and the title character inDave the Barbarian.[2] He also lent his voice to theKids' WB animated seriesStatic Shock asFrancis Stone/Hotstreak.[4] In 1996, Cooksey provided the voice of Stoop Kid fromHey Arnold!

Music

Cooksey was the lead singer in the bandBad4Good.[1] They released one CD,Refugee, forInterscope Records in 1992.[4][1] He was also a member of Lucy's Milk in 1996,[5] He is the most prominent member of the band Arbuckle (2004–2013).[3] In 2015, Cooksey worked with the Western band Shelter Dogs, providing guitar and vocals, releasing the albumTake Me Home in March 2015, all the tracks being written or co-written by Cooksey.[6]

Personal life

Cooksey was born inMoore, Oklahoma, the son of Melody Ann (née Wagoner) and Daniel Ray Allen Cooksey.[7]

Since 1998, Cooksey has been married to a woman named Amber, who hasepilepsy. They have a daughter named Zöe.[8]
