Danny Beard is the stage name ofDaniel Curtis (born 27 May 1992),[3] a British drag performer and singer, who appeared onBritain's Got Talent andKaraoke Club: Drag Edition and won thefourth series ofRuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Biography

In 2016, Danny Beard auditioned for thetenth series ofBritain's Got Talent and reached the semi-finals.[4][5] In 2021, they were a contestant onKaraoke Club: Drag Edition and finished in fourth place.[6]

In 2022, Danny Beard was announced as part of the cast ofSeries 4 ofRuPaul's Drag Race UK, becoming the sixth bearded queen in theDrag Race franchise and the first to appear on one judged byRuPaul.[1][7][8] During their run, they won four main challenges, becoming the fourth contestant in the history ofRuPaul's Drag Race UK to do so, and made it to the finale without ever being up for elimination. On 24 November 2022, Danny Beard was announced as the winner of the season, becoming the first bearded winner of anyDrag Race franchise.[9]

In March 2023, Danny Beard appeared in theChannel 4soap opera,Hollyoaks.[10] In January 2024, Danny appeared as a guest on BBC iPlayer / BBC Sounds The Traitors: Uncloaked.[11]

On 8 March 2024, Danny Beard joinedBBC Radio 1 to temporarily present their own mid-morning show on each Friday and Saturday until July, replacingKatie Thistleton who went on to co-hostGoing Home withVick Hope andJamie Laing.[12]
