Daniel René Claude Sangouma (born 7 February 1965 inSaint-Denis, Réunion) is a retiredFrench sprinter who specialized in the100 and200 metres.
At the1988 Summer Olympics inSeoul, he won a bronze medal in the4 × 100 metres relay with his teammatesBruno Marie-Rose,Gilles Quenehervé andMax Morinière.
At the1990 European Championships inSplit the French team of Morinière, Sangouma,Jean-Charles Trouabal and Marie-Rose improved theworld record to 37.79 seconds. The record stood less than one year, as theSanta Monica Track Club from the United States team ran in 37.67 seconds at theWeltklasse Zurich meet.[2] With 10.02 seconds Sangouma is also a former French record holder in the 100 metres.
