Daniel Palladino is an American television executive producer, screenwriter, and director. He is best known for his work on the television seriesGilmore Girls (2000–2007) andThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017–2023), which earned him aWGA Award, twoPGA Awards, and fourPrimetime Emmy Awards. He has worked on both series with his wifeAmy Sherman Palladino.
Palladino began working in series television in 1989, spending three years on theABC programWho's the Boss? starringTony Danza,Judith Light andAlyssa Milano.[1] Along with stints as a producer of theDavid Keith seriesFlesh 'n' Blood and as a writer for an episode ofCheers, Palladino wrote a half-dozen episodes ofThe Upper Hand, the British version ofWho's The Boss?.[2]
Palladino spent two years in the mid-1990s onRoseanne, serving as a writer, co-executive producer, then executive producer.[1]
In 2000 he began a half-dozen years onGilmore Girls on theWB Television Network. He wrote and eventually segued into directing.Gilmore Girls was the story of a thirty-something single mom (Lauren Graham) who runs an inn in a small Connecticut town while raising her teenage daughter (Alexis Bledel).[2]Time magazine listing it among the "100 Best TV Shows of All Time".[3] He went on to serve in producing roles on such original series asThe Return of Jezebel James and the dance dramaBunheads.[2]
Just prior and for a time concurrent withGilmore Girls, Palladino was executive producer and showrunner of theFox animated sitcomFamily Guy for its initial two seasons, earning anEmmy nomination for Outstanding Animated Program for its second season. From 2012 to 2013, he returned toFamily Guy as a consulting producer.[2]
In 2016, Palladino helped navigate the return ofGilmore Girls, toNetflix, writing and directing two of the four installments forGilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Much of the cast reunited for the four-part mini-series, with each episode tracing the characters' lives across one season: winter, spring, summer and fall. Palladino served as executive producer, writer and director alongside his wife, series creatorAmy Sherman-Palladino.[2]
Palladino then served as executive producer on theAmazon Prime Video pilotThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.[2] The series went on to win twentyEmmy Awards, includingOutstanding Comedy Series,[4] threeGolden Globes and fiveCritics' Choice Awards, as well as thePeabody andWGA award.[2] He is executive producer, writer, and director of the series' fourth season.[2]
Palladino is married to writer and directorAmy Sherman-Palladino, with whom he frequently collaborates.
Palladino has received fourPrimetime Emmy Awards for his work onThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel includingOutstanding Music Supervision andOutstanding Comedy Series,[4] two PGA Awards[5] and aWGA Award.[6]

Palladino has received twoDGA Award Nominations in theOutstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series category for the episode "We're Going to the Catskills!" in 2019 and in the same category in 2020 for "Marvelous Radio".

Palladino won aPeabody Award along withAmy Sherman-Palladino in the Entertainment category for first season ofThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in 2017.[8]
