George Daniel Ewing Jr. (born March 26, 1983) is an American former professionalbasketball player. He currently works as a scout for theLos Angeles Lakers.

College career

A 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) guard fromDuke University, Ewing played for four seasons at the college under coachMike Krzyzewski from 2001 to 2005. Prior to Duke, he played forWillowridge High School inMissouri City, Texas along withT. J. Ford andIvan McFarlin. He was selected as aMcDonald's All-American in 2001.

Professional career

Ewing was selected by theNBA'sLos Angeles Clippers in the second round (32nd overall) of the2005 NBA draft. He played with the club during two seasons, as a backup. In 127regular season contests, he averaged 3 points, onerebound and oneassist per game. On June 29, 2007, he was waived by the Clippers.[1]

Europe

On July 23, 2007, Ewing signed a two-year contract with theRussian League clubBC Khimki.[2] After one year in Russia with Khimki, Ewing joinedPolish League'sAsseco Prokom Sopot for the 2008–09 season and remained with the team until 2011.[3]

In July 2011, he signed a one-year contract withAzovmash Mariupol of Ukraine.[4] In December 2012, he signed withBeşiktaş of theTurkish Basketball League for the rest of the season.[5]

In July 2013, he signed with a one-year dealParis-Levallois Basket of the FrenchLNB Pro A.[6] On October 1, 2014, Ewing signed a six-week contract withLe Mans Sarthe.[7] On October 29, 2014, his contract with the team was extended for the rest of the season.[8]

On August 15, 2015, Ewing signed a one-year deal with theLithuanian clubNeptūnas Klaipėda.[9]

On August 18, 2016, Ewing signed with Israeli clubMaccabi Ashdod.[10] On February 22, 2017, he returned to Neptūnas.[11]
