Daniel Bullocks (born February 28, 1983) is an Americanfootball coach and former player. He played football professionally assafety in theNational Football League (NFL) with theDetroit Lions from 2006 to 2010. He was selected by the Lions in the second round of the2006 NFL draft following hiscollege football playing career atNebraska.
Bullocks attendedHixson High School[1] inChattanooga, Tennessee, along with his brotherJosh from 1997 to 2001. Daniel and Josh were both multi-sport standouts participating intrack and field, as well as excelling in football. Daniel playedquarterback throughout his high school career while Josh playedrunning back. The Bullocks brothers led the Hixson Wildcats to four consecutiveTSSAA football playoff appearances. Daniel and Josh were heavily recruited by several NCAA Division I schools including theUniversity of Tennessee before deciding to attend theUniversity of Nebraska–Lincoln. Daniel and Josh both graduated from Hixson High School in 2001.
Bullocks attended theUniversity of Nebraska–Lincoln where hestarted 22 games in four seasons, serving asco-captain during his senior season, when he was selected as a second-team All-Big 12 Conferencedefensive back for the second consecutive year.

Bullocks was selected 40th overall by theDetroit Lions in the second round of the2006 NFL draft.[4] He played 31 games for the Lions, starting in 21.[5] He was waived and subsequently placed oninjured reserve on August 19, 2009. The Lions re-signed Bullocks on April 20, 2010. The Lions released him on July 8, 2010.[6]
Bullocks served as the defensive secondary coach for theUniversity of Northern Iowa from 2012 to 2014. On January 19, 2015, Bullocks was announced as the cornerbacks coach forEastern Michigan University under head coachChris Creighton.[7]
On January 22, 2016, Bullocks was announced as the assistant defensive backs coach with theJacksonville Jaguars of theNational Football League.[8]
In2017 Bullocks became the49ers assistant defensive backs coach a position he would hold for two years.[9] In2019 Bullocks was promoted to thesafeties coach for the 49ers.[10]
Bullocks is theidentical twin brother ofJosh Bullocks, also a safety at Nebraska, who was selected in the second round of the2005 NFL draft by theNew Orleans Saints. Daniel and his wife Vanessa have 4 children.
