Dane Morgan (born 30 January 1979) is an Australian formerrugby league footballer who played as asecond-row forward in the 1990s and 2000s.

He played for theNorth Sydney Bears in 1999 and then for both theWests Tigers and theMelbourne Storm in 2000.

Early career

Morgan played schoolboy football withHoly Cross College and junior football with Leichhardt. He played junior representative games withBalmain Tigers, before transferring toCronulla-Sutherland Sharks for under 17s.[2]

Playing career

Morgan played 5 games for theNorth Sydney Bears in the1999 NRL season and was in the side for Norths final ever first grade game against theNorth Queensland Cowboys inTownsville.[3][4]

Signed byMelbourne Storm, Morgan travelled to England as part of the Storm squad to contest the2000 World Club Challenge againstSuper League ChampionsSt Helens, with Morgan playing from the interchange bench and scoring atry the contributed to his team's victory. He made a solitary appearance for Melbourne in round 14 of the2000 NRL season, before being released mid season.

Morgan then joined theWests Tigers in the same year and played one game for the club which came in round 20 against theBrisbane Broncos which Wests lost 56–12 atANZ Stadium.[5]

Later in his career, Morgan played in England for two seasons withOldham R.L.F.C.[6]
