Dan Gonzalez (born September 20, 1974) is an American former professionalfootballquarterback who played two seasons with theMontreal Alouettes of theCanadian Football League (CFL). He playedcollege football atEast Carolina University. He was also a member of theDallas Cowboys,Miami Dolphins andAmsterdam Admirals.

Early life

Gonzalez playedhigh school football atNeptune High School inNeptune,New Jersey.[1] He helped the Scarlet Fliers to playoff appearances his sophomore and senior years.[2]

College career

Gonzalez played for theEast Carolina Pirates from 1994 to 1997. He made his first start for the Pirates during his junior season in November 1996 in place of the injuredMarcus Crandell.[2] He recorded totals of 3,868 yards on 23 passing touchdowns during his college career.[3] Gonzalez wasredshirted in 1993.[2]

Professional career

Gonzalez signed with theDallas Cowboys after going undrafted in the1998 NFL draft.[2] He was signed by theMiami Dolphins in 1998 and was allocated toNFL Europe in 1999, where he played for theAmsterdam Admirals.[2] He played for theMontreal Alouettes from 2000 to 2001.

Coaching career

Gonzalez was later a coach atIndian River High School inChesapeake, Virginia.[2]
