TheDaliang Mountains (Chinese:大涼山;pinyin:Dàliángshān;lit. 'Great Cool Mountains') are in the southern part of theprovince ofSichuan inChina. The Daliang rises above the left bank of theJinsha (UpperYangtze) River, opposite theWulian Feng inYunnan Province. This part of the Jinsha River is the last portion to flow through mountainous terrain before entering theSichuan Basin where the river becomes known as the Yangtze atYibin.[1] The Daliang are located within easternLiangshan Prefecture, southernLeshan Prefecture, and westernYibin Prefecture.[2]
The highest peak of the range is Shizi Mountain (狮子山) at 4,076 m (13,373 ft).[2]
TheChengdu–Kunming Railway passes to the west of Daliang Range, below theXiaoxiang Range.[3]
