The team was founded in May 1935 asMålilla Motorklubb and in 1949 renamed itself Dackarna (in honour ofNils Dacke) and the club began league racing. The team raced at theGamla Målilla Motorstadion but in 1956, the team rode their matches at theVäxjö Motorstadion.

In1957, Dackarna won division 1 and were declared the winners of theSwedish Speedway Team Championship for the first time; the team includedRune Sörmander andDan Forsberg.[5][6] They then dominated the championship by winning successive titles in1958[7] and1959[8] before claiming a fourth success in1962.[9] Riders like Sormander,Per-Tage Svensson andÅke Andersson were instrumental during this period.

In 1992, the Gamla Målilla Motorstadion was demolished and a new Målilla Motorstadion opened on 29 June 1993 and Dackarna would become the resident speedway team.
