This enzyme belongs to the family ofhydrolases, specifically those acting on triphosphoricmonoester bonds. Thesystematic name isdGTP triphosphohydrolase. Other names in common use includedeoxy-GTPase,deoxyguanosine 5-triphosphate triphosphohydrolase,deoxyguanosine triphosphatase, anddeoxyguanosine triphosphate triphosphohydrolase. This enzyme participates inpurine metabolism.
