TheCutler River is astream located in theWhite Mountains ofNew Hampshire in theUnited States.
Approximately 2.6 miles (4.2 km) in length,[1] it is atributary of theEllis River, part of theSaco Riverwatershed flowing to theAtlantic Ocean inMaine.
The river rises as two branches on the eastern slopes ofMount Washington, the highest peak in thenortheastern United States. The western branch, identified as the main stem by some sources, begins inTuckerman Ravine.[2] The northern branch, shown as the main stem by theU.S. Geological Survey,[3] flows out of Huntington Ravine. The two branches join approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) east of the Hermit Lake structures in Tuckerman Ravine, and the river continues east down the side of Mount Washington, dropping over Crystal Cascade,[4] and joining the Ellis River at the base of the mountain inPinkham Notch.
Tuckerman Ravine Trail crosses a bridge to the south bank of Cutler River,... and soon passes a side path leading 20 yd. right to the best viewpoint of Crystal Cascade.
