Creonion (Ancient Greek:Κρεώνιον) was an ancient town in the southernIllyrian region ofDassaretia, mentioned byPolybius in the 2nd century BC in the accounts of theIllyrian Wars andMacedonian Wars.[1][2][3] The location of the ancient town is still unknown.[2] It was probably situated nearLake Lychnidus (Ohrid).[4]
Along withAntipatrea,Chrysondyon andGertous, Creonion was one of the Dassaretan towns around which theIllyrian dynastSkerdilaidas and theMacedonian kingPhilip V fought in 217 BC. Creonion was a settlement of unspecified size.[3]
