TheCreed Brothers are an Americanprofessional wrestlingtag team consisting of brothersBrutus Creed (Drew Kasper; born May 13, 1996) andJulius Creed (Jacob Kasper; born October 3, 1994). They are signed to theprofessional wrestling promotionWWE, where they perform on theRawbrand, and are members of thestableAmerican Made. They are formerone-timeNXT Tag Team Champions.

Early lives and amateur wrestling

The Kasper brothers were born inLexington, Ohio.[6] They attendedLexington High School, where they both competed inamateur wrestling.[7]

Jacob Kasper attendedDuke University inDurham, North Carolina, where he studiedsociology, graduating in 2018.[8] During his time at Duke University, he participated incollegiate wrestling for theDuke Blue Devils and was diagnosed withCrohn's disease.[9] He was a two-timeNational Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)All-American and a three-time NCAAAcademic All-American, and won the 2018Atlantic Coast Conference heavyweight championship. He set a Blue Devils record for the most wins in a single season and ranked second for overall career wins.[10] He participated in the 2016Olympic trials in theGreco-Roman wrestling andfreestyle wrestling categories,[11] placing fifth.[10] In 2017, he trained withmixed martial artistDaniel Cormier to help Cormier prepare for his bout withJon Jones atUFC 214.[10] In 2018, he began working for Duke University as an assistant wrestling coach.[12][13]

Drew Kasper attendedOtterbein University inWesterville, Ohio, where he majored inexercise science, graduating in 2020. During his time at Otterbein University he competed in collegiate wrestling for theOtterbein Cardinals, with an overall record of 108–13. He was a two-timeNCAA Division III All-American. In his final year, Kasper had a perfect 30–0 record and was ranked number one in the United States, but did not compete in the 2020NCAA championships due to their cancellation as a result of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[6]

In October 2020, Jacob Kasper was signed by WWE after being scouted byGerald Brisco at the2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships and attending a try-out that June.[2][10] In February 2021, Drew Kasper was signed to a three-year contract by WWE after attending a try-out at his brother's urging.[6] Both men were assigned to theWWE Performance Center inOrlando, Florida for training.[14] In June 2021, Drew and Jacob Kasper were respectively renamed "Brutus Creed" and "Julius Creed".[15] In August 2021, the Creed Brothers appeared onNXT as members ofRoderick Strong'sDiamond Minestable, establishing themselves asvillains in the process.[14] They made their in-ring debut at the August 24, 2021,NXT tapings (with their match airing on September 7, 2021), defeating Chuckie Viola and Paxton Averill in asquash.[11][16]

On February 15, 2022, atNXT Vengeance Day, the Creed Brothers defeatedMSK to win theMen's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.[17] On June 4, 2022 atNXT In Your House they defeated Pretty Deadly to win theNXT Tag Team Championship.[18] AtWorlds Collide on September 4, 2022, the Creed Brothers lost the NXT Tag Team Championship toPretty Deadly afterDamon Kemp, a member of the Diamond Mine stable, turned on the Creed Brothers, costing them the match.[19] In July 2023, the Creed Brothers lost tothe Dyad in a"Loser Leaves NXT" match;[20] they were reinstated the following month after defeating the Dyad in acage match.[21]

The Creed Brothers, along with fellow Diamond Mine memberIvy Nile, made their main roster debut on the October 30, 2023 episode ofRaw, defeatingAlpha Academy.[22] AtHalloween Havoc the following day, they defeatedAngel Garza andHumberto Carrillo in a "Tables, Ladders, and Scares match" in their final match for NXT.[23]

On the November 6, 2023 episode ofRaw, the Creed Brothers (and Ivy Nile) formally joined theRaw brand.[24] On the November 27 episode ofRaw, the Creed Brothers won atag team turmoil match for anUndisputed WWE Tag Team Championship title shot; however, they failed to defeatThe Judgment Day (Finn Bálor andDamian Priest) for the titles on the December 18 episode ofRaw.[25][26] In July 2024, the Creed Brothers aligned themselves withChad Gable by assisting Gable to attackBo Dallas.[27] The stable of Gable and the Creed Brothers was subsequently dubbed "American Made".[28]

Professional wrestling style and persona

The Creed Brothers wrestle in a power-based style incorporating "slams,suplexes and collisions".[29] Their finishing moves include aclothesline/sliding lariat.[30][31][32] Their style has drawn comparisons to both theRoad Warriors[16] and theSteiner Brothers.[33] Reflecting their amateur wrestling backgrounds, the Creed Brothers perform wearingwrestling singlets andwrestling shoes.[16] Brutus Creed was described by WWE in 2021 as possessing "unbridled strength and a ruthless nature",[3] while Julius Creed was described by WWE as possessing "uncontrollable aggression and an absolute sadistic nature".[4]
