Courceys (Irish:Cúrsaigh)[1] is ahistorical barony inCounty Cork on the south coast ofIreland. Its name refers to theNormande Courcy family,Barons Kingsale, who came to Ireland in the 12th century and were the main landowners in the area.[2] The barony of Courceys includes thecivil parishes of Kilroan, Ringrone and Templetrine.[3] Courceys is also the name of anecclesiastical parish in theRoman Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross.[4] Villages within this parish includeBallinspittle andBallinadee.[4][5]

The localGaelic Athletic Association team isCourcey Rovers GAA. Anassociation football (soccer) team, De Courcey Albion FC, closed in 2016.[6]
