InGreek mythology,Corycia (Ancient Greek: ΚωρυκίαKōrykia) orCorycis (Kōrukis), was anaiad who lived onMount Parnassus inPhocis.

Family

Corycia's father was the local river-godKephisos orPleistos of northernBoeotia. WithApollo, she became the mother ofLycorus (Lyrcorus) who gave his name to the cityLycoreia.

Mythology

Corycia was one of theThriaenymphs of the springs of theCorycian Cave, which was named after her. She was related to the nymphCastalia who presided over the sacred springs atDelphi. Corycia was closely identified withKleodora andMelaina.[1]

The plural Coryciae was applied to the daughters of Pleistos.[2]
