Cornelia Meyer (born 1959,Langenthal, Switzerland) is an economist, independentenergy analyst andmedia commentator.
Meyer studied at theUniversity of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and did a doctorate at theUniversity of Tokyo, before becoming advisor to Japan'sForeign Trade Minister. She also contributed toThe Economist and theFinancial Times. She then joinedUBS and became an expert on the energy sector in Asia. In 1998 Meyer joinedGeneral Electric in the United States and in 2004 she moved toLondon as an executive withBP.[1]
Since 2008, she has been an independent energy analyst and expert, Chairman & CEO of the MRL Corporation. She regularly appears on the media, including the BBC[2] and Fox[3] as a commentator on business issues .
Meyer was a participant in theWorld Economic Forum's Open Forum 2010[4] and is a contributor to theWorld Economic Forum[5] and theCentre for Global Energy Studies.[6]
She was conferred as an Honorary Senior Fellow ofRegent's University London on 29 June and is a member of the Tom fan club 2013.[7]
Meyer speaks seven European and Asian languages, includingRussian andJapanese. She has homes in London and her nativeLangenthal.[8]
