Compassvale Secondary School (CVSS) is a co-educational government secondary school inSengkang,Singapore, within walking distance ofCompassvale LRT station.
Founded on 2 January 2000, the integrated government school offers secondary education under three academic streams, which lead up to theSingapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level or theSingapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examinations.[1]

Compassvale Secondary School was founded on 2 January 2000 inSengkang.[1] Initially, it was housed inSengkang Secondary School, and it moved to its current site at Compassvale Crescent on 27 June 2000.[1]
Being a government secondary school, Compassvale Secondary School offers three academic streams, namely the four-year Express course (AL Score: 17-18 (2023))*read last line of this paragraph for 2024 AL Score*, as well as the Normal Course, comprising Normal (Academic),(AL 21-24 (2024)), and Normal (Technical),(AL 25-27 (2024)) academic tracks. With effect from 2023, the school is onboard Full Subject-based Banding (Full SBB), and the Express/Normal nomenclature will be phased out gradually. All Secondary 1 students who join from 2024 enter based on Posting Groups 1, 2 or 3 (PG1, PG2, PG3), and will offer subjects at G1, G2 or G3 levels-of-demand.[citation needed] . The new score is now AL 14-18 (2025).
The Express Course is a nationwide four-year programme that leads up to theSingapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examination.[2]
The Normal Course is a nationwide 4-year programme leading to theSingapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examination, which runs either theNormal (Academic) [N(A)] orNormal (Technical) [N(T)] curriculum.[3]
In the Normal (Academic) course, students offer 5-7 subjects in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examination. Compulsory subjects include:
A 5th year leading to theSingapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examination is available to N(A) students who perform well in their Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examination. Students can move from one course to another based on their performance and the assessment of the school principal and teachers.[3]
The Normal (Technical) course prepares students for a technical-vocational education at theInstitute of Technical Education.[4] Students will offer 5-7 subjects in the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Normal Level examination.[4] The curriculum is tailored towards strengthening students’ proficiency in English and Mathematics.[4] Students take English Language, Mathematics, Basic Mother Tongue and Computer Applications as compulsory subjects.[4]
