Colors Kannada (previously known asETV Kannada), is an IndianKannada languagegeneral entertainment channel, owned byJioStar, a joint venture betweenViacom18 andDisney India. It primarily telecasts programs such as serials, reality shows and Kannada films.[1]

History

The channel was originally launched on 10 December 2000 as ETV Kannada and was promoted by Hyderabad'sRamoji Rao. It later became a part ofViacom 18, owned byNetwork 18, officially re-branding under the Colors franchise on 26 April 2015. Colors Kannada was the first GEC to start an HD channel inKarnataka.

This channel was launched on 24 July 2016, after the success of Kannada's leading entertainment channel, Colors Kannada, the primary Kannada entertainment channel ofJioStar.[17][18]

Colors Kannada Cinema

Colors Kannada Cinema is an Indian pay television movie channel broadcasting inKannada language, owned byJioStar. It was launched on 24 September 2018.[19][20]
