Warming Jose Bernabel (born June 6, 2002) is a Dominicanprofessional baseballthird baseman in theColorado Rockies organization.

Bernabel signed with theColorado Rockies as an international free agent on July 2, 2018.[1] He made his professional debut in 2019 with theDominican Summer League Rockies.

Bernabel did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of theminor league season because of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[2] He returned in 2021 to play for the rookie–levelArizona Complex League Rockies and Single–AFresno Grizzlies and played 2022 with Fresno and the High–ASpokane Indians.[3] After the 2022 season, he was selected to play in theArizona Fall League.[4]

On November 15, 2022, the Rockies added Bernabel to their 40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[5] He was optioned to the Double-AHartford Yard Goats to begin the 2023 season. In 83 games for Hartford, Bernabel hit .225/.270/.338 with 6 home runs and 28 RBI.

On December 3, 2023, Bernabel was the victim of a robbery attempt in the Dominican Republic, an incident in which he suffered multiple gunshots to the back.[6]

Bernabel was again optioned to Double–A Hartford to begin the 2024 season.[7] However, on March 28, 2024, Bernabel wasdesignated for assignment following the promotion ofAlan Trejo.[8] He cleared waivers and was sent outright to Hartford on March 30.[9]

Robert Humberto Calaz (born November 22, 2005) is a Dominican professionalbaseballoutfielder in theColorado Rockies organization.

Calaz signed with theColorado Rockies as an international free agent in January 2023.[10] He made his professional debut that year with theDominican Summer League Rockies.

Calaz played 2024 with theArizona Complex League Rockies andFresno Grizzlies. He was named the Complex League MVP after hitting .349/.462/.651 with 10home runs and 56 runs batted in (RBI).[11]

Julio Alberto Carreras (born January 12, 2000) is a Dominicanprofessional baseballinfielder in theColorado Rockies organization.

Carreras signed with theColorado Rockies as an international free agent on February 24, 2018. He made his professional debut that season with theDominican Summer League Rockies.

On November 15, 2022, the Rockies added Carreras to their 40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[12][13] He was optioned to the Double-AHartford Yard Goats to begin the 2023 season. In 104 games split between Hartford and the Triple–AAlbuquerque Isotopes, batting a cumulative .238/.325/.340 with 6 home runs, 38 RBI, and 14 stolen bases.

Carreras was optioned to Triple–A Albuquerque to begin the 2024 season.[14] In 38 games, he hit .181/.247/.269 with one home run, nine RBI, and 12 stolen bases. Carreras wasdesignated for assignment by the Rockies on May 19, 2024.[15] He cleared waivers and was sent outright to Albuquerque on May 21.[16] On October 29, Carreras re-signed with the Rockies on a minor league deal for the 2025 season.[17]

Dyan Yamel Jorge (born March 18, 2003) is a Cubanprofessional baseballshortstop for theColorado Rockies ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Jorge signed with theColorado Rockies as an international free agent in January 2022.[18] He made his professional debut in 2022 with theDominican Summer League Rockies.

Jorge played 2023 with theArizona Complex League Rockies andFresno Grizzlies and started 2024 with theSpokane Indians.[19]

Antoine Jermaine Kelly (born December 5, 1999) is an Americanprofessional baseballpitcher in theColorado Rockies organization.

TheSan Diego Padres drafted Kelly in the 13th round (381 overall) out ofMaine East High School in 2018.[20] Kelly elected to attendWabash Valley College instead. In his lone season at Wabash Valley Kelly started 13 games posting a 9–0 record, with a 1.88 ERA and 112 strikeouts.[21] TheMilwaukee Brewers selected Kelly 65th overall (second round) in the2019 Major League Baseball draft.[22]

In his first pro season of 2019, Kelly posted a 2.84 ERA over31+23 innings with theArizona League Brewers Blue and theWisconsin Timber Rattlers.[23] Kelly did not play in 2020 due to the cancellation of theMinor League Baseball season because of theCOVID-19 pandemic. In November 2020, Kelly underwent thoracic outlet syndrome surgery.[24] Upon completing rehab Kelly split the 2021 season between the AZL Brewers, Wisconsin, and theCarolina Mudcats, going a combined 0–2 with a 9.78 ERA over19+13 innings. He opened the 2022 season with Wisconsin, going 2–4 with a 3.86 ERA and 119 strikeouts over 91 innings.[25] Kelly represented the Brewers at the 2022All-Star Futures Game.[26]

On August 1, 2022, Kelly andMark Mathias were traded to theTexas Rangers in exchange forMatt Bush.[27] Kelly finished the season with theFrisco RoughRiders of theDouble-ATexas League, posting a 7.23 ERA with 24 strikeouts over18+23 innings.[28]

Kelly received a non-roster invitation to major league spring training in 2023. Kelly split the 2023 season between Frisco and theRound Rock Express of theTriple-APacific Coast League, going a combined 3–1 with a 2.04 ERA and 79 strikeouts over57+13 innings.[29] Kelly was named the Texas Rangers 2023 Reliever of the Year.[30] On November 14, 2023, the Rangers added Kelly to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[31]

Kelly was optioned to Triple–A Round Rock to begin the 2024 season.[32] In 18 appearances, he struggled to a 9.37 ERA with 22 strikeouts across16+13 innings of work. Kelly wasdesignated for assignment by the Rangers on July 8, 2024.[33]

On July 15, 2024, Kelly was claimed off waivers by theColorado Rockies.[34] He was removed from the 40–man roster and sent outright to the Triple–AAlbuquerque Isotopes on August 29.[35]

Jake Thomas Madden (born December 26, 2001) is an Americanbaseballpitcher in theColorado Rockies organization.

Madden grew up inHarrisburg, Pennsylvania and attendedEast Pennsboro High School.[36] He committed to playcollege baseball atSouth Carolina from 15 scholarship offers during his junior year.[37] Madden tore hisulnar collateral ligament in his senior season and continued to play as East Pennsboro's designated hitter.[38] He decommitted from South Carolina in the summer after his senior year and instead enrolled atNorthwest Florida State College.[39]

Madden redshirted his first season at Northwest Florida while recovering fromTommy John surgery to repair his elbow injury.[40] He committed to transfer toAlabama for his remaining collegiate eligibility prior to his sophomore season.[41] As a redshirt freshman, Madden went 4-4 with a 4.53 ERA and 76 strikeouts in42+23 innings pitched.[42] He dealt with blister issues on his pitching hand throughout the season.[43]

Madden was selected in the fourth round by theLos Angeles Angels in the2022 Major League Baseball draft.[44] He signed with the Angels on July 22, 2022, for an over-slot signing bonus of $997,500.[45]

On July 30, 2023, Madden and was traded along with Mason Albright to theColorado Rockies in exchange forC. J. Cron andRandal Grichuk.[46]

Jack Murphy Mahoney (born August 13, 2001) is an Americanprofessional baseballpitcher in theColorado Rockies organization.

Mahoney attendedSt. Viator High School inArlington Heights, Illinois, where he played baseball as a shortstop and pitcher,football as a quarterback, and basketball.[47][48] After graduating, he played three seasons ofcollege baseball at theUniversity of South Carolina. As a junior in 2023, Mahoney started 17 games and went 7-4 with a 4.16 ERA and 84 strikeouts.[49] After the season, he was selected by theColorado Rockies in the third round of the2023 Major League Baseball draft.[50][51]

After signing with the Rockies, Mahoney made his professional debut with theArizona Complex League Rockies, pitching a total of two innings for the season. He was assigned to theFresno Grizzlies to open the 2024 season.[52] In late July, he was promoted to theSpokane Indians, with whom he finished the year.[53] Over 23 games (22 starts) between both teams, Mahoney went 6-7 with a 3.90 ERA and 115 strikeouts over 120 innings. To begin the 2025 season, he was assigned to theHartford Yard Goats.[54]

Jared Alan Thomas (born July 1, 2003) is an Americanprofessional baseballoutfielder in theColorado Rockies organization.

Thomas grew up inWaxahachie, Texas and attendedWaxahachie High School.[55]

Thomas played two seasons of college baseball for theTexas Longhorns. He batted .321 with four home runs, 29 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases during his freshman season.[56] Thomas was named first-team All-Big 12 Conference after hitting .349 with 15 doubles, 16 home runs, and 18 stolen bases as a sophomore.[57]

Thomas was selected in the second round of the2024 Major League Baseball draft by theColorado Rockies.[58] Thomas was assigned to theFresno Grizzlies of theSingle-ACalifornia League to begin his professional career.[59]

Samuel Thomas Weatherly (born May 28, 1999) is an Americanprofessional baseballpitcher in theColorado Rockies organization.

Weatherly grew up inAnn Arbor, Michigan and attendedHowell High School. He was named Michigan's Mr. Baseball as a senior after going 6–2 on the mound with a 0.78 earned run average (ERA) and also batting .482.[60] Weatherly was selected in the 27th round of the2017 Major League Baseball draft by theToronto Blue Jays, but opted not to sign with the team.[61]

Weatherly played for theClemson Tigers for three seasons. As a freshman, he made eight appearances with five starts and had an ERA of 6.64.[62] After the season, Weatherly playedcollegiate summer baseball for theKalamazoo Growlers of theNorthwoods League.[63] Weatherly went 2–0 with a 3.38 ERA in 21 relief appearances in his sophomore season.[64] During the summer of 2019, he played for theFalmouth Commodores of theCape Cod Baseball League and went 0–1 with a 4.32 ERA and 18 strikeouts over16+23 innings pitched.[65][66] As a junior, Weatherly had a 0.79 ERA struck out 43 batters in22+23 innings pitched over four starts before the season was cut short due to thecoronavirus pandemic.[67]

Weatherly was selected in the third round by theColorado Rockies in the2020 Major League Baseball draft.[68] He signed with the team on June 24, 2020, for the slot-valued bonus of $755,300.[69] Weatherly was assigned to theFresno Grizzlies of theLow-A West for the 2021 season.[70]
