Colby Steven Corino (born August 28, 1996) is an Americanprofessional wrestler performing for theNational Wrestling Alliance (NWA), where he is a formerNWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion , and also appears on theindependent circuit . He is the son of formerNWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion andECW World Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino .
Professional wrestling career [ edit ] [ edit ] Corino signed a contract withRing of Honor in 2014 and debuted soon after, joiningThe Decade and aligning himself withB. J. Whitmer ,Jimmy Jacobs andAdam Page as their "young boy". The addition of Corino to The Decade caused friction between Whitmer and Jacobs, leading to a match between the two atSupercard of Honor IX , won by Whitmer in what would go on to be Jacobs' final match in Ring Of Honor. After Jacobs' departure, as part of the "young boy"storyline , Whitmer would regularly berate, embarrass and even attack Corino in front of his father, then-color commentator and former professional wrestlerSteve Corino . Whitmer disbanded the stable in 2016.[ 1]
In early 2016, Corino participated in theROH Top Prospect Tournament . He competed in the first round on January 9, where he was eliminated byPunisher Martinez .
On November 17, 2016, it was announced Corino would be joining theNew Japan Pro-Wrestling Dojo to train as ayoung lion .[ 2]
Corino formed the "Ugly Ducklings" stable with Lance Lude and Rob Killjoy.[ 3] [ 4] Total Nonstop Deletion , as part of the Tag Team Apocalypto. He was quickly eliminated byDecay (Abyss andCrazzy Steve ).[ 5]
Corino appeared on the August 17, 2020 edition ofWWE RAW Underground, losing toErik of the Viking Raiders as well as the September 4 edition of 205 Live againstMansoor .
[ edit ] Corino made his return to NWA atCrockett Cup night two, accompanied by Jamie Stanley, defeating Eric Jackson,Flip Gordon , Gaagz The Gymp, Jarron Fulton and Joe Alonzo to become the number one contender for theNWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship .[ 6] NWA 75th Anniversary Show , Corino won theNWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship . when he defeatedKerry Morton .[ 7] [ 8] Hard Times , Corino lost the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship to Joe Alonzo, ending his reign at 204 days.[ 9]
At Hard Times V on 22 March,[year needed Colby defeatedFrank in the final of Jax Dane Memorial Tournament for a guaranteed shot at NWA World Title. Colby cashed in his shot and got involved in the World Title match betweenThom Latimer andRhino , making it a Triple Threat match. He and Rhino both were unsuccessful to defeat Latimer..[ 10]
