TheCoeur d'Alene National Forest is a U.S. National Forest located in theIdaho panhandle and is one of three forests that are aggregated into theIdaho Panhandle National Forests (the other two are theKaniksu andSt. Joe National Forests). Located inShoshone,Kootenai, andBonner counties in northern Idaho, it has a total area of 726,362 acres (1,135 sq mi or 2,940 km2).[1]
The forest headquarters is located inCoeur d'Alene, Idaho. There are localranger district offices located in Coeur d'Alene andSilverton.[2]
