Ticarcillin/clavulanic acid, orco-ticarclav, is a combinationantibiotic consisting ofticarcillin, aβ-lactam antibiotic, andclavulanic acid, aβ-lactamase inhibitor. This combination results in an antibiotic with an increased spectrum of action and restored efficacy against ticarcillin-resistantbacteria that produce certainβ-lactamases.^[1]
