Clazakizumab (formerlyALD518 andBMS-945429), aninvestigational drug, is anaglycosylated, humanized rabbitmonoclonal antibody againstinterleukin-6.[1] Clazakizumab was developed byBristol Myers Squib andAlder Biopharmaceuticals. A preliminary randomized, double-blind,placebo-controlled,phase 2 dose-ranging study of clazakizumab inpsoriatic arthritis patients, funded by the manufacturer, suggested that clazakizumab may be an effective treatment option for musculoskeletal aspects ofpsoriatic arthritis; however, the antibody lacked adose-response effect.[2]
