Claudio Casacci (born 1958) is an Italian space scientist and amateurastronomer,[2] who is credited by theMinor Planet Center with the discovery of several main-beltasteroids between 1995 and 1998.[1] He works atThales Alenia Space inTurin, Italy.[3]

In 1995, the outer main-belt asteroid4814 Casacci was named in his honour (M.P.C. 25229).[2][4]
