Claire Johnstone (born 11 January 1982) is aScottishfootballgoalkeeper.
After playing forDoncaster Belles at Under–18 level,[2] Johnstone moved to Scotland in February 2001, where she was signed forKilmarnock by managerJim Chapman.[3]
In the 2004 summer season, Johnstone played in Iceland withÍBV and made 13Úrvalsdeild appearances. She returned to Iceland in 2007 to play 11 games forÞór/KA.[4]
Johnstone andSuzanne Malone left Celtic for championsGlasgow City in June 2009.[5] In October 2010 Johnstone played as a substitutestriker due to an injury crisis and scored in Glasgow City's 16–0 win overAberdeen.[6]
Before the2012 Scottish Women's Premier League season, Johnstone held transfer talks withForfar Farmington. She played in a friendly match but the move broke down.[7]
After a spell withRangers, Johnstone joined Motherwell in 2018.[8]
Johnstone made her seniorScottish national team debut againstMoldova in April 1999.[9] For several years she was the national team's regular understudy toGemma Fay.
