Lilac kingfishers arekingfishers in the genusCittura, found in the lowlands of theIndonesia island ofSulawesi and the neighbouringSangihe andTalaud Islands.
The genusCittura was introduced by the German naturalistJohann Jakob Kaup in 1848.[2] The genus name is from classical Greekkitta for "magpie" andoura for "tail".
