

Euroregion Cieszyn Silesia (Polish:Euroregion Śląsk Cieszyński,Czech:Euroregion Těšínské Slezsko) is one of theeuroregions (transnational co-operation structures) betweenPoland andCzech Republic. It has area of 1741,34 km2 and 658,224 inhabitants as of 2009. The largest cities areJastrzębie-Zdrój from Polish side andHavířov from Czech side. It was established on 22 April 1998.[1]
It comprises a large part of the historical region ofCieszyn Silesia:
Not the whole area of the historical Cieszyn Silesia region belongs to the euroregion, mainlyBielsko andCzechowice-Dziedzice andFrýdek with its surroundings, east of theOstravice river, which belong to theEuroregion Beskydy.[3]
